Eight Parts of Speech

adjective: words that help describe
adverb: words that modify verbs or adjectives
conjunction: Words that help to connect or join words or phrases
interjection: words that express strong feelings (e.g. Wow)
noun: refers to a person, place, or thing
preposition: words that may show position or location. May help join nouns to other words.
pronoun: words used in place of nouns
verb: words used to show an action or state of being
